Embraces and Empires

When your arms are around me

I feel a gentle, kindly breeze

That dances on my skin

As it wafts up from the seas

We play on the sand

Building castles of our own

An expanding empire

For us to rule alone

But now it just feels strange

Our bond is somehow broken

I am a tide drifting away

My fear is slowly awoken

The waves pull me off my feet

And your world is that much brighter

For whenever we embrace

I know that I am holding tighter

We acknowledge the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people, who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Woroni, Woroni Radio and Woroni TV are created, edited, published, printed and distributed. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. We acknowledge that the name Woroni was taken from the Wadi Wadi Nation without permission, and we are striving to do better for future reconciliation.
