The Labor factions have started off the student politics ticket announcements with a joint ticket for next month’s ANUSA elections: RAGE for ANUSA, with Charley Ellwood for President and UMAC, and Stella Serrao-Smith for Vice President.

The ticket also includes Dylan Rafael Adams for Clubs Officer, Leila Clarke for Welfare Officer, Aurora Neumann for Education Officer, Eloisa Belmar Osborn for Treasurer and Sophie Kington for General Secretary.

Ellwood is currently the Undergraduate Coursework Office and Adams is currently a general representative on the SRC.

RAGE promises to shift the focus back to students, who have been struck with multiple ‘outrages’ ranging from extensive education cuts to a decline in campus experience. They are campaigning on three core values: service delivery, student culture and experience, and fighting for quality of education.

Under Ellwood and Serrao-Smith, RAGE aims to ‘build on’ and ‘strengthen’ existing ANUSA initiatives, including the Union Food Pantry, mental health grants, and the improved BKSS. The ANU has reportedly seen much improvement in social life this year, with ‘the biggest O-week since COVID’ and record-breaking club activities engagement.

RAGE aims to continue this restoration and implement policies to boost night life. Finally, RAGE promises to keep fighting against course and staff cuts at the ANU.

More candidates and policy announcements are still to come.
