Social Media Sub-Editor

Woroni is looking for a Social Media Sub-Editor to join the Semester Two Management team. 

The role of a Social Media Sub-Editor will be to:

  • Keep Woroni social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, updated with events, photos, news articles, content pieces, art, radio excerpts and TV videos
  • Work alongside the Marketing and Communications Manager and Board of Editors to develop a schedule of social media posts
  • Contribute to the creation of a style guide for other editors and sub-editors to use for posting their own content.    

The Social Media Sub-Editor will be expected to: 

  • Communicate regularly with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the Woroni Executive team (Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and Managing Editor)
  • Meet with relevant Board members every fortnight to discuss the social media schedule
  • Maintain professionalism and respect when communicating with members of Woroni and the broader community in their social media conduct
  • Commit to roughly 4-6 hours of work a week

This is a volunteer role. However, Social Media Sub-Editors can expect to receive an honorarium based on their commitment to the role at the end of the Semester.

Marketing and Communications Manager (Senior Sub-Editor)

Woroni is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join the Semester Two Management team. 

The role of a Marketing and Communications Manager will be to:

  • Coordinate Woroni’s presence on social media, the Woroni website, internal communications and all marketing material
  • Ensure consistent and engaging posting on all platforms, maintain Woroni’s website, work with Editors to post and schedule portfolio specific content 
  • Develop and implement a whole of organisation marketing strategy and creating marketing material and resources

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be expected to:

  • Commit to 6-8 hours of work a week
  • To attend at least one Woroni event per term and is encouraged to attend other events such as General Meetings, speaker events and workshops.
  • Maintain professionalism and respect when communicating with members of Woroni and the broader community in their social media conduct
  • Communicate regularly with the Social Media Sub-Editor and the Woroni Executive team (Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and Managing Editor)
