The Communications Team is Hiring

We're looking for Communications and Events Officers to join the team

About the Communications Team

The Communications Team is Woroni’s first point of contact for many. We’re responsible for supporting the entire team in promoting what we do as a student organisation and engaging with the wider ANU community, and publics.

We’re looking for Communications Officers and Events Officers to support the Communications Editor in the promotion of Woroni’s work.

You’ll be joining a supportive, tight-knit team. You may have seen our work on social media, or in our events like the recent Fun Time Woroni. In growing the team, we’re hoping to do bigger and better projects!

Communications Officer

Our Communications Officers are responsible for the running of our socials. Think: maintaining our Instagram and Facebook accounts and creating posts to promote Woroni’s projects, events and publications. You’ll work closely with the entire Woroni team and engage with the wider ANU student community.

Ideally, you will:

  • be experienced in creating engaging social media content
  • know your way around Canva
  • have a creative flair and strong attention to detail
  • be able to adhere to strict, rolling deadlines
  • be a team player and a strong communicator

Events Officer

Our Events Officers are responsible for the organisation and running of Woroni events. Think: booking venues, organising budgets, promoting the event and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day. You’ll work closely with the entire Woroni team and engage heavily with the wider ANU student community.

Ideally, you will:

  • have experience in organising events
  • be a strong communicator with both internal and external stakeholders
  • be able to adhere to rolling, strict deadlines
  • be a team player

A note on our role ‘desirabilities’

Please remember: the lists above are not requirements. The most important thing is a genuinely keen attitude to join Woroni, and contribute to student journalism. Our Communications Team will be here to support you and help develop the skills required of the roles.

If you’re interested in one of the roles (or even both!), please fill out the form below.

Applications close June 23 2025

These are ongoing, volunteer positions. Ideally, you’ll be ready to begin the position in July, in preparation for Bush Week and Semester 2.

If you have questions, please contact communications@woroni.com.au
